Looking forward

SHOCKING! Two and a half years between my last post and now. I can only claim that time had been sucked away. A lot has been said and done since then. I took a hiatus from photography work, no - instead absent from exposing and developing my work. I’ve continued to take photos and post on Instagram. I’ve now finished a new area of exploration and developed alternative skills (not particularly artistic but nonetheless creative), I am ready to explore and develop the images I have collected over the past year.

You will see changes happening on my site over the coming months as I prepare to showcase new work. Additionally, there will be more regular updates, images, and posts on my Instagram account, so be sure to follow, like, and comment on the upcoming posts. Feedback is essential as I develop my new works.

Quiet times to get sh*t done

Bonjour à tous! It’s a Friday but what does that mean right now for everyone around the world? It’s not a usual one that’s for sure, but I am banking on the fact that everyone is trying something new, exploring new pathways, and delving into unknown territory that may be closer to you than you think. That’s a lot to think about just there. What I am trying to say is that I am sure it’s been a busy but productive week no matter what the world has thrown at you!

In saying this, these ‘quiet’ indoor times have made me focus on getting my sh*t done in terms of personal photographic work and updating my portfolio. That includes my website with new Studio photography added to Works. Of course, more will be added to this in the coming months.

AND, don’t forget I will be adding the last few plates of my 270 project this weekend.

Stay safe, keep well, and enjoy the time you have to get sh*t done!

New plates added...

Hello! Bonjour!

New Ginkgo plates (works) have been added to the 270 project page! This page will be updated again soon with more plates to come so you can see the full 270 leaves on display.

Are you wondering more about these unique plates? Well, they will be for sale soon as one of a kind colour archival photographic prints. So stay tuned if you want to purchase limited edition gingko plate prints. Details will follow…

270

I am currently diverging from my usual style of photography and creating a new body of work that is investigating the forms, identity, and uniqueness of gingko leaves. While on a walk I discovered and became fascinated by two ginkgo trees near me. In a quest to understand what is unique about them, I decided to collect and photograph over 300 leaves. From this, I have created ‘plates’ that will represent 270 different leaves. I will be launching this new series soon! So make sure you check out the new project under Works and you can see a sneak preview on my Instagram account @tiffanydlarkan

12Stories exhibition has come and gone and what a turn out! We had over 800 people attend during the 5 days of our group exhibition Where is Now After All. Amazing response, feedback, and interest in our works. Thank you to ALL who attended and supported us throughout the event!

Do keep posted here and on the 12Stories Facebook page for new and upcoming events as this is a space to be continued... FOR SURE!

12Stories: Where is Now After All?

12Stories group exhibition is underway! We had a massively successful response on the opening night with many friends and patrons attending! We thank them all and I thank all those wonderful comments and enquiries about my work. It has been very interesting to hear different opinions about my work. I forgot all about this stage of art making. It is not often enough that a dialogue can be created around a personal piece of work and though I try often to avoid it, it reminds me how we all come from different spaces - frames of mind - and it is the singular piece that is the commonality to the diverse approaches! Alas, it is this very conversation that created this exhibition in the first place!
